Rod wanted a custom guitar with a grab bag of features from other companies that he could never get unless he had a custom guitar builder do it for him and it's going to be a really nice setup. Rod told me he wanted the initials RVII on the head stock and that he wanted a relic finish on this guitar. He also wanted a lefty tremolo because the trem arm contours to his hand and that helps shape the notes he is playing. He said that's they way SRV done it and I thought who could argue with that. Rod told me he wanted the switches and pots setup like a PRS and he wanted this all on a Tele. At this point why not use a 25" scale and throw in a set of rear mounted Dimarzio humbuckers. After several e-mails we had a designed a guitar that's turning out to be very tasty. I hope you enjoy the pictures and keep an eye on this project as it is getting close to being finished.
